I can't say for sure but I think think the major thing is the front tire may hit the pipe. you should be able to find an '01 250 frame cheap too.

Not to push you one way or the other, but what condition is your 450 in? if it has been riden hard for 2-3 years without a rebuild it could be a ticking bomb that you would be better off without but then I'm not a fan of the 4poke, too many parts flying around in there!

Am I the only one that doesn't use any sealant? I have never had a problem yet, the pipe is enough of a bitch to get off now, with sealant seams like it would be nearly impossible without taking off the stub. They come off fine with RTV on there.
