stall out really easy not enough torque (regardless of RPMs) is a sign of pretty lean jetting stalling too easy can be caused by lean jetting also if it runs like a smaller cc bike that also can be a sign of lean jetting start it from cold, turn the choke off after 5 seconds, let it idle 20 seconds...

every few months (pretty regularly) a guy gets his cyl bored by someone who dosent specialise in cr500s, and then there here asking why did my bike seize 10 minutes into the first ride.....

if everything is done right you should get plenty of life out of a cast piston.... other than running dirt thru the engine i havent had any issues and i put a ton of hours on.... and it sees the sunny side of 10 000 every ride and coolant temps over 285.... not to mention the intentionaly lean jetting

i went with the softest 3x option, its still pretty stiff, sitting on the bike and pulling on the bars as hard as i can only bends them an inch or so the ktm PHDS is a true rubber mounted handlebar clamp, its not like those honda/kawi rubber cones that dont really do anything http://www.rocketcentre...

for valentines day she got a Ti spring, rubber bar mounts and composite handlebars to replace heavy flexx bars (the CF bars are 1.4 lbs, the same as pro tapers) she lost 5 lbs total, it will be interesting to see if carbon fiber bars will hold up, they seem to dampen vibration just as good or better...
