A point i never reall thought of before, What temps should you run a 500 ? I had been told by a motor builder that ideal working/hp temps at around the 65-70 mark but I'm sure others have more info? Has worked for me over the last 20 years or so. No cold seizures or cooked motors, just need to make...

looks great. I would recommend getting some kind of rad guard though .... The Rad gaurd is not so important with road racing and also found on the old one that with all the vibration, it tended to rub on the radiator it self! Just got back from it's first race meet with mixed results. Found that I ...

My Aussie Gen 1 finally (Nearly) finished.

Finally got my Gen ! somewhere near finished and first race this weekend comming. Hopefully better than the old steely. I have already had a couple of small runs on it and it steers so much quicker than the old steely but suspension seem way out even after the 1K I just spent!!!! Guess we wi...

When I said I don't use it, that sale point did go through my head, so I'll have a think about it, but I'm generally a bit of a hoarder and don't let go of much (Need a bigger shed!) but will let you know if I do want to sell it. Mean while I'll keep a look out for brake bits for ya. Don't get conne...

Keeping costs down, now that I understand! Just keep checking Ebay for a yamaha super motard brake set up and sooner or later they show up for not a bad dollar. I also bought a 2 piston Braking caliper and radial mount master cylinder with braided line for $160 (Cheap!) only thing is that the ...

Thinking a bit more about your disk, it may well not be a GSXR disk as you have it bolted up using the existing holes? To fit mine, I had to re-drill mounting holes to fit the RGV wheel. Also put a 5mm "Top hat" spacer behind the disk to mount it out a little further. https://bannedcr500ri...

No need to on the Gen 1 if you're using a Yamaha caliper as the mounting holes are the same! Just had to machine the disk down 5mm off the total Circumfrence because it was touching the back of the caliper but all is good now! You will probably need some spacers to space caliper from the for...

I am sure the 600 disks are the same.[/img] This is obviously a pic of the set up on the steel...

. . . .and a 610TE Husky lurking in the background as well . Good man ! Just replaced my 510TE with a 570 'Berg, and miss the Husky handling already. Nice looking AF too. I road raced a steelie in the 80's (before anyone had even seen a motard, so it was a bit of a novelty) and loved it ! The big b...

And Another!

Been dropping in here for a while also to check on ideas and advice and have found this site very helpfull and entertaining. I have bought a 99 roller and have a 96 as the donor. Went for the 99 as I have read they have a stiff chassis and that will suit the road racing I wish to do with it. Been se...
