Take deux! I really like this area. Even tho its dusty as hell there isn't a shortage of hairpins, rock step ups, root step ups, rivers, creeks, wooden bridges and just a lot of freaking rocks. There is supposedly 500 miles of trails. With that said, I like to get higher up in the hills in the off c...

Maxxis EN

After the Idaho trip I couldn't wait to off-load the tires I had on the 250. They kept wanting to wash out on me--does not inspire confidence. I was going to roll with a Maxxis SI like I have on the front of the 500. I have been fond of it for a long time. However, I saw the EN, I liked the pattern ...

I got a fever....and the only prescription is more riding (omit cowbell)! ;D I really want to ride as much as I can before I deploy. My knee is still a big jacked but gets better daily. I'm not gonna sit around whining about it. So this kid I know, I build hit motor for him asks me if I want to ride...

Damn :) How the hell do you pass the physical cooking like that? I had a hard enough time back in the day (AF 70's) and back then it was only 1.5 miles in 12 minutes. Despite rumor, chow hall food was pretty good and plenty of it. Geez, I couldn't throw a leg over a bike today if I hung around your...

This cooker continues to crank out no brainer "good food." I have been at the grill for a while and have had my share of follies. This cooker produced the best ribs and chicken I have ever had. It holds heat and moisture so well. Worth a look since my unit is well seasoned by now.

Pit Barrel Ribs Both Baby Back and St Louis style. I prefer Baby Backs, more meat and easier to prep. Trim a little fat off and rip the membrane off the back side..done! St Louis take a bit longer to trim up and such. Most people chuck the trimmings, I trimmed fat off them, rubbed and tossed on web...

Plain Jane Pork Tenderloin I had this Tenderloin sitting the freezer vacuum packed, decided to Q it up last night. Rubbed it down the night before. Cranked the weber up and ran bottom vent 1/4 and top vent 1/2 open. I used lump and a chunk of cherry. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/a2b72a...

Ok, so here is the deal. I cooked on this twice this weekend and I am very impressed!!! It holds heat and moisture. The biggest difference is that it cuts cook times in half on a lot of the larger cuts. I first did a 14 pound full packer brisket. My rub flopped which pissed me off. I hung it and the...

So for a while now I have been running my weber through the ringer--love thy weber! I have been doing some reading up on building a drum smoker. Robs Meat Salad A few weeks ago my wife made homemade pizza. The kids said it was awesome but was gone in zero flat. I pondered about making my first one. The Mogollon Monster This is a spin off of MM's Pork Tenderloin. Since I did not originally come up with it. I dubbed it with a rather fitting name. Smoked Wings I got a hankering to do some wings. I went on down to the Commissary and picked up a big bag of Tastey Bird wings. Brought them home, tossed em in a colander and cleaned them up under water. Drip/pat dry. Since the weber is not big enough I had 3 rounds. I laid some foil down and poked...
