I've built motors on those pipes that are 65 at the wheel on gas. Alky bikes need a custom pipe and can soak up bigger carb size. A pulse injected 44 lectron on methanol is running over 93 and 70ftlbs Do you mind explaining the pulse injection or pointing me to place to learn about it. I been out t...

a 38mm with pulse injection makes more power everywhere when compared to a 44 lectron  and I wouldnt worry about the big pipe too much, a fatty will pull more torque than either cpi. I've run the fatty, gnarly, dep, cpi (1st version) and noleen over 10,000, fatty got there fastest. With what p...

Nice. I'm building a CR500AF to run on the shorter sportbike tracks and would want it to run 120 on the front straights (usually 1/3 mile or so). Threads like this give me hope. Just need to figure out the engine build to do it... and one that'll last. U shouldn't have a problem hitting that speed ...

We have been 104 in the 1/8th on a smooth pass. This run was the worst of the day. The setup only has 4 runs on it, so we are still leaning it down and learning to ride it. I'm thinking we can get over 120 in the quarter. In fact we are going after the fastest cr500 on Youtube. The one that went 10....

i'll get you a part # for the piston, its a wiseco made for a rotax aplication, have to modify the intake window + cut some off the skirt to clear the case windage, also to use a stock stroke the jug must be cut on the top + bottom to bennifit on port timing + correct for the pin height difference ...

i'm going to say its way easier to ride the long rod engines, the short rod one in my '88 is so dammn rangy its hard to know where the power is coming in, but when its extended for on the hill its revvedup for clutch dump anyways. I know that if i want a good scare i get on the field with that bike...

You can't determine if a turbo fits your app just by the compressor side. A compressor map is good for d...

what kind of turbo? how are you feeding oil to the turbo and how are you cooling the turbo? The turbo is a Garret GT15. I'm using a dedicated oil system for the turbo. Basically, a small tank, electric pump, regulator and feed/return lines. It's simple. Here's a link with some pics. http://www.3whe...

wicked! but, I have to ask... doesn't boost just blow through the exhaust on a 2stroke? isn't that why detroit 2 stroke turbo diesels had an exhaust valve, to hold boost? what kind of turbo was uses? a mitsu td03, a garrett t2? how are you fueling it? blow through, carb before turbo? how did you ge...

Try a Vforce reedcage system. also, what boyesen reeds were you using? the POWER reeds are more durable than the PRO reeds. if all else fails, i believe the stock reeds are metal. at least, they were for quite a few bikes and quads ive ad apart. and the 500 Sabertooth top end for the TRX is complet...

:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool: that thing must haul the fuckin mail. other than the turbo, anything else done internally? high comprression, better carb, reeds, porting? if not, do all that, run it on alky, and give it a shot of nitrous, and you will destroy anything at the sand ...

Turbo cr500af trike completed!
Well. this project started as a 2nd gen af, then a 3wheeler, now a functional turbo. I'm using a Garret GT15 @ 12psi. It has crazy power. I thought the bike was fast before. The turbo is night and day difference. And i basically done the project in 2 weeks. One week for fab. One week for tuning. Tur...

....almost done with my 500af trike
Got a little bored with my AF; so i decided to make it a trike. It has a Blaster rear axle, custom +10 arm, KX100 front-end,Hayabusa steering dampner, drag bars and Lectron alky carb. I gotta get a new piston before I can take my first ride. I can't wait. Here are a couple of pics. http://jonsmithph...

I think the clutch cable is the best idea yet... CR500s eat clutch cables for lunch, I've thrown out a pile of bound up and stretched out clutch cables. you just added more spring tension, so that is all that makes sense. I've never seen a failure out of the clutch basket bearing, I have seen the t...
