Nice. I'm building a CR500AF to run on the shorter sportbike tracks and would want it to run 120 on the front straights (usually 1/3 mile or so). Threads like this give me hope. i'll get you a part # for the piston, its a wiseco made for a rotax aplication, have to modify the intake window + cut some off the skirt to clear the case windage, also to use a stock stroke the jug must be cut on the top + bottom to bennifit on port timing + correct for the pin height difference ...

i'm going to say its way easier to ride the long rod engines, the short rod one in my '88 is so dammn rangy its hard to know where the power is coming in, but when its extended for on the hill its revvedup for clutch dump anyways. You can't determine if a turbo fits your app just by the compressor side. A compressor map is good ...

what kind of turbo? how are you feeding oil to the turbo and how are you cooling the turbo? The turbo is a Garret GT15. I'm using a dedicated oil system for the turbo. Basically, a small tank, electric pump, regulator and feed/return lines. It's simple.

but, I have to ask... doesn't boost just blow through the exhaust on a 2stroke? isn't that why detroit 2 stroke turbo diesels had an exhaust valve, to hold boost?

also, what boyesen reeds were you using? the POWER reeds are more durable than the PRO reeds.

if all else fails, i believe the stock reeds are metal. at least, they were for quite a few bikes and quads ive ad apart.

Well. this project started as a 2nd gen af, then a 3wheeler, now a functional turbo. I'm using a Garret GT15 @ 12psi. It has crazy power. I thought the bike was fast before.
