I thought I'd pop in as well. Been a while. What we need is a private FB group that indexs the content here. A way to join the two (Privacy mitigated) would be awesome.

Running KZ3S stator, cdi and flywheel.

Re wired the whole thing yesterday and still nothing.
Think I'm gonna go oem 500 system to save the messing about.
92-96 CR250 ignition is the easiest IMO.

appreciate that! Does anyone know if it's a bolt on?
97 Has carb circuitry that needs some mods 1st. 92-96 are direct bolt on. 00-01 are digital and are sought after. I have a 96 in mine and it runs great.

I plan on doing the same thing. Still running on a well-jetted PJ with the DGN needle. The settings I have been recommended are: DGN needle 172 main, 45 pilot. all at about 2500ft. Good luck and post your results!

Actually the trail techs work off their own battery for speed-o, etc. I have one on mine but the unit failed. Too many vibes? IDK - was cool while it lasted. So you charge the unit itself? Which actual one do you have? Cause from what i understand the 25W ricky stator lighting coil should be enough...

If you were gentle, you can reuse the stock mounts. There used to be a kit going around some years back. I think I have a coil adapter left over..may have the stock mounts from my gen2 still.

That FL400 (500) is nice! You have a lot done to it! Navi too? Wish I had that in my FL250 days - funny what Nodge said...as I had my Ody when I was 12-14ish. I imagine a pretty big difference with the 500 jug. What was involved in the conversion? And last but not least, does it wheelie from a stand...
