So I learned how to ride a 500 yesterday....

Went to Cycle Ranch with a hoon I met here. After turning some laps on my 450 I thought I would try Tony's 2000 steelie. HOLY CRAP.... I was not prepared. Let me give you a little back story. Tony and I are both in the process of building Gen 4 CRF250A/F's. Tony has a couple steelies as well and off...

Are you asking if the new style pipe will work on your 85? Yes, it works fine. And it is really your only choice to fit the new aluminum chassis, unless you have someone that can hand fit a cone pipe.

Crank tolerances

Roosty or someone that has good info handy...

I have scoured the files here and cant seem to find the service limits on the big end. What is the side to side tolerance. I was just going through a new to me 90 CR 500 and want to check the crank.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies guys..

I kinda figured that if the super hot 4 stroke lives with a single, than the big 5 should have no issues.

I would like to see some ideas of how how hoons have done their own. May make me rethink how I want to do it.

Single coolant outlet head.. Pros/Cons

I know I read a thread on here before about the single outlet, but cant seem to find it. Obviously a single outlet makes using unmodified CRF rads possible, but what was the downside. Coolant flow or volume, pressure etc???? If someone has a link, or has experience with this mod, please redirect me....

Brit, The wheel was no problem at all. Very happy to see you like it so much. Makes me want to find a dead 09+4st and build a duplicate. One of the guys (Kent Howerton) I ride with here in Texas has a dead one. Not sure what he is doing with it, but Ill ask him Saturday if you want. Wish he had of ...

hmmmm... 1.2 gallons.
You think that will make a 30 minute moto (+30 expert). What year is it, maybe we can trade my untouched 08 crf 250 tank for your little one.

Anyone know how much fuel you use on a 500 for a quick moto??

I can clean her up nice. I get a kick out guys that weld a pipe seam with a mig... Gas is how a cone pipe or a PC is put together ....

At the very least , it will make a great spare.
