Ditch that POS X airbox and put a R airbox on it. Then you can get skins on without magic tricks. Last year for fun I tried to go a whole season on one filter, twin air. I don't like UNI's. I have learned to keep an eye on the seams on the TA's here, very important as I clean em in gas then soap and...

I have some extra 00 airboots, I can check the part # if you need it. The fit isn't the best but it is workable and I've never had one pop off. Give 14/51 or 14/50 a whirl if you want that motor to rock like it should. With the proper gearing you can run 2 gears, 3 and 4, not 2 and 3. I'd dump that PC pipe and find a fatty and be much happier. PC's are yawners. Have you put in any time tuning the A kit for the 500? I'm hoping to get togethe...

If you get the brass screw a bit longer than necessary you can put on a wing nut and either locktite it or run another regular nut to hold it. Then you could adjust it on the fly like the zip tye screw.

when piston weight increases the RPM that the crank is set up for will increase as well. I would have had mine set up for a bit lower RPM if I would have know that ahead of time. Hopefully the nikasil coating lasts a LONG time on my jug.

So did you do so fancy talking with Stevo?

with that pipe you will need to touch the clutch to perk it up on corner exit. Gnarly pulls hard much lower rpm. Takes a very fast track to miss the high rpm pull of a PC. I've swapped back and forth a lot. Always end up back on the FMF. If you can get your hands on a fatty you would be quite happy ...

Re: Lazy 96

I have a 96 500 motor that seems lazy on the bottom. The jetting is very good, starts easy and runs clean. Is there a way to help pick up the bottom and make it smooth at the same time? Anyone with experience on Roosty or Eric Gorr engine mods? Not really wanting to spend a ton of cash at it. Thank...

rule of thumb is you should be able to fit a quarter between the perch and the lever for free play. The quick adjusters the Macgrath made popular RULE :headbang: :headbang:

If it was just the springs the kevlar would do the trick, right?

You must be some kind of hard on a clutch. I was getting a full hard season on a CR250 clutch racing hard in the A class with NO slip at the end of the season.

Hardly ever changed a 500 clutch after I ditched the magura.

Since when did STR start welding the crank pin. Last time I talked with him he said that he didn't see how someone could balance it via the disassembly process and then add the weight of the weld and have it come out right. Something seems funny here. He's done many 500 cranks, never heard of a bad ...
