KYB and Showa Shock Service and Race Tech Gold shim stack
I found this site on the web and it's pretty good, was going to make one but haven't had time, this site does a pretty good job. A little more explanation on how to get the nut off the shaft would be good. I use a file and patients. If your nice you can reuse the nut. Use a file that cuts on the fac...

Re: PWK 41!
I was concerned that it may hurt bottom end response, it actually improved bottom end response, just works better. I haven't noticed any down-side. Yup... I get tired of people stating that you lose anything ,putting bigger carbs on the 500. 38mm carbs come on 250's for Christs sake. You really thi...

Re: PWK 41!
Life with the 41PWK is sweet, the motor runs smoother and pulls from down low to massive over rev that has awesome pull, pretty neat! It has been money well spent and woould do it again. Not to mention it gets really friggin good mileage considering it's a 500 Smoker, probably cause ya barely have ...

Shock pics .....
Somebody needs to rebuild their shock and take pics and make a step by step shock rebuild sticky $.02 I have my 92KYB apart, I'll take some pics and make a play by play. They are pretty easy and parts seem to be easy to get, either from Honda or Race Tech. From Race Tech you can get new piston ring...

Shim Stacks ? (Rear Shock)
Hi All, Re: Rear Shock. I am looking for some shim stack specs (other than stock) for desert (plusher) style of riding. Has anyone come up with a shim stack that they like or taken note of what you have received from a suspension tuner when changing oil in your shock? BTW this is for the KYB on my 9...

Updating My Website .........
Hi All, Been updating my website and will continue with more. http://motorguy.rack111.com Added a link to photos of the 41mm PWK and the V3 Reeds and the Adapted intake manifold. It didn't match up very well but with the help of the die grinder I was able to blend the transitions nicely. Ride on Bro...

Madman wide ratio trans gears .....
Let me know how they work out? Im interested in a set too. I am in the middle of restoring my Wetbike and need to have the motor off my bench before I tear into the CR5hunski, so it will be a little while before I get the gears in. Also I'm gathering other new parts so when it's apart I can make it...

MADMAN WIDE RATIO GEARS
Got my gears, they look great. Martin (Madman) told me that that is probably the last set they will make, his gear guy has other interests and these are a pain in the ass, so he is done. At least that was what I was told. I hope it isn't true. Will need to find some time to get these in the bike, I ...

PWK 41!
The 41 PWK works fantastic! Kick-ass throttle response and a much stronger idle, seems to start easier but, it always started 1 or 2 kicks, the second kick was usually my fault. have a 55 pilot and that's a touch too rich for the 3,000 feet elevation here. the air screw is out about 2-1/2 so I will ...

Sudco, John, Service & Product - Keihin PWK 41 Pro
Contacted John at Sudco, told him I was from Banned, was going to order a 39 PWK since this group has so many testimonials to that carb. Got a call back from John "I've got bad news, the 39's are out of stock but, we have 41's". Had to think about it for a minute, then thought about My lit...

the reason rocky mountain has such great tire prices is because they get special pricing from the manufacturer for buying in such huge bulk. Alot of places cant inventory the amount of stuff needed to get the price breaks they can... However i still support my favorite local shop :P Its easier to c...

Rocky Mountain
Very good to deal with!
Buying from a vendor is usually pretty easy but it's when you need to make a return that shows their true character. Rocky Mountain handles this well. Free shipping on orders over $99, what a deal.

Wide Ratio, Porting, While you're at it .........
While you're at it, send the cylinder and head to Glen @ GSS and get the race setup done. You won't be sorry...unless you go off the back end  How much $, time to do, and contact info? Since the entire engine will be down I would be able to match the transfers to the cases. Not sure about race...

Madman wide ratio trans gears .....
Thanks for all of your input, it is appreciated. I have considered the later tranny but want the tallest final ratios I can get, that way I can run down a dirt road at speed. Some of my buddies have 650R's (one friend solo'd the Baja 1000 and finished mid pack in the iron man at 47 years old) and bi...

Madman wide ratio trans gears .....
Is anyone running the Madman wide ratio tranny?
If so, what are your thoughts on it.
I am about to go for it but, just thought I'd ask before I coughed up the cash and went through the effort.

Hello from Ridgecrest, CA (High Desert, Dirtbike Heaven)
Hello from the high desert of so cal! I recently found a nice 92 500 smoker and am having a blast with it. I used to ride open bikes back in the day, Maicos, the last one was an 84 490, neat bike but severly dated now, still fond memories of that machine, very versaltile. Glad to have found this sit...
