I bought a 3.1 gallon Clarke for my Gen III CR250 frame. I won't get it until next week. I'll post pictures when I get it.

I looked at an online parts diagram from bikes from the late 80's and it looks like there were some change-ups. Most of them have pictures of three different ignition systems. What year did they change to a plastic cdi box?

Is this a CR500 CDI?

This came on a 93 engine that I bought. The wire from the stator splits, and the CDI looks small. It looks different than the 97 ignition that I had. http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn171/robertgalka/CR500cdi001.jpg http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn171/robertgalka/CR500cdi003.jpg http://i304....

I used a wide hose clamp, or it could be called a band clamp. This is my build.

The exhaust isn't touched, just the intake. I'll try to take some better pictures. I'm thinking of sending this cylinder to someone like GSS to get some professional porting done. However if someone butchered it, I won't.

The picture shows the only part of the cylinder that was touched. The intake port was radiused and now it's 19mm from the bottom of the sleeve. It looks like the divider between the transfer and intake port was ground also. Here's another picture, but it doesn't show that much either. http://i304.ph...

Have A Look at This Porting

I bought this cylinder off eBay, and it looks like it is ported. The intake seems to be lowered and there seems to be work done on the transfers. Does it look like this person knew what they were doing?

On a 125, the back motor mount is the same as a 500. You will have to make a new cradle and new bottom and front motor mounts.

The bottom motor mount lines up on the 250 frame.

A 125 conversion is a lot of work, I don't think it's worth the effort for an old bike.

I thought about it, and might do it next winter. The hard part would be drilling a hole through the outer part of the bearing.

WTB 90-01 CR250 Flywheel Weight

I want to try one, to see what it does. I don't care what weight it is. I believe the 125 uses the same weight.

It's yours if you want it. Look on Craigslist Detroit. I bought a brand new OEM one on eBay. I hope I can make it work on my bike.
