Very good numbers Johnny!! The gain with the Dynoport pipe is evident. I am surprised about the fact that the Dynoport gave the power earlier than the PC.

Great looking pipe and great looking bike!! The exhaust is very fat like the CPI, but the diffuser and cone angles looks softer. Probably this exhaust give a wider power range. How is it comparing to the PC?

I can´t carry my bike to the dyno. I have a problem with the cylinder head. I tried to put a decompressor and I ruined my best cylinder head (`86 model). Then I weld the hole for the decompressor but it´s leak some cylinder pressure to the cooling circuit and throw water through the radiator vent......

The low end with this exhaust is very smooth, but the transition to the mid-range it´s very unpredictable, like a elephant kicking your ass  . It gives to the bike a pure '2 stroke behaviour', you can know with exactitude the rpm in which the exhaust and engine are in resonance. It´s very peaky...

The pipe cost me 307 euros, with shipping. You can buy it in http://www.cpiracing.com/store/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=10 . Roostius_Maximus did some testing with this exhaust comparing to the old FMF Fatty (some people says that it´s better than ProCircuit) and he found an improvement of 6 hp ...

Hi Johnny. I´m Francisco from Spain  .Eric Gorr recommended in his book raise the exhaust port 2mm and keep the transfer in stock height for a mild porting. I´m not a expert in the CR500 but I ported mine and I can tell my experience. Recently, I have rebuilt my engine: -90mm and new Vertex pi...

Excuse me but I´m spanish and I don´t understand very well your question. I bought the cdi directly from hpi.be . It cost me 492 euros (around 670$), CDI+2curves+program interface, cables,... including shipping, VAT. http://electrexworld.co.uk from england sell this cdi cheaper but they don´t reply ...

I bought the CD1509D for the CR500 ignition, with the 2 curves option and the interface to program the cdi. I can program the ignition timing advance for the whole range, but there is other options when you buy the cdi (more expensive) wich allow program power jet carb and differents timings curves ...

CPI sand pipe vs ProCircuit

Hey, today I can test the CPI sand pipe in my ´94 CR500. I have rebuilt and tuned the engine recently: -Rebore the cylinder to 90mm and new Vertex piston. -190/126 porting, widening the exhaust port, grinding the exhaust port flangle, ... -V-Force 2 reed cage. -41mm PWK by Sudco. -´86 cylinder head ...

Piston length

Hi, someone know if there are a piston with more length than the stock?. I want to try shorter timing in my CR cutting the base of my cylinder 1mm, but the problem is when the piston will be in TDC, the crankcase will be exposed to the exhaust pipe 1mm because the piston length is not enough to clos...

In 2 strokes there´s more advance at low rpm because the cylinder is "empty" of gases and we need to produce spark sooner to attain correct combustion. At higher rpm the effect of resonance in the exhaust system load the cylinder, the pressure in the cylinder is higher and we don´t need mu...
