You dont need it anyway, 2 of my wheels have been without a retainer for awhile and no issues. X2 I don't have one in mine either as long as you've got the seal in there to keep the crap out when you ride. I don't know if the newer bikes have a spacer that runs in between the bearings on each side?...

Just take a punch and put it through the axle hole opposite the side you are trying to remove. Catch the very edge of the bearing and give it a tap and then move to other side so that you aren't pushing it crooked. You should be able to tap it out without much trouble. If they are already bad you do...

Re: have to buy some new gear, suggestions?
I think I can fix my helmet and chest protector and goggles, but I will for sure need some new gloves and want to change my knee pads. :? I'd be careful with that helmets are designed crush to absorb impact. I'm sure you know this already, but it won't be as good next time and may not have ...

Re: 86-87 plastics?
like UZI's 86' for example, where do you find plastics for the pre 89's? Ha Mine is actually an 85 frame but has an 86 motor. Anyways mine is actually coated with truck bed liner, I tried the plastic spray paint stuff but it didn't hold up. I do a lot of tight woods and rock riding with the 85' and...

Well I'm bringing this back to the top I had my 250 cylinder re-plated at US chrome. I'm very happy with the results they did an excellent job and looks like they took plenty of time to chamfer all the ports edges. Also cleaned all parts of the cylinder. Looks like it should run like a top I give so...

It's all good even though I think you're overstating a bit. Thanks anyway. It all started 30 years ago with a small house that I had no idea how I was going to afford. The downpayment came from 1 tax return, 5 motorcycles, 1 Austin Healy. I encouraged a friend of mine to rent a room for 6 months to...

Its about $300 to do a cr500 cylinder and thats over the stock iron sleeve. I have the cylinder for my 250 at US chrome right now getting re-plated. I did some talking with them after all the questioning I did in this thread. I found out that Nicom is just their trade name for nikasil. They claim th...
