that'll work just fine. its sealed... so you can mount it anyway, and it wont leak anything into your airbox. its a lead acid battery, so it can be charged by a stator once you get one. and its 12v, so it can run everything. plus.. its cheap.... and thats important because if you discharge it more t...

i thought that was an eline. coouldnt see very well e-line is an external stator. it bolts some magnets to the outside of the flywheel, then uses a big billet cover to house a nice huge streetbike like stator around it. an e-line makes something like two 100w outputs... so you can run your lights p...

btw, after tons of research, i think the best thing you can do is to put a CR250 igntion setup, and then run an aftermarket stator for a CR250. this puts real wattage behind the stock cover. plus you get the CR250s better timing curve. however, you also get the 250s lighter flywheel.. good if you wa...

flowbench works to tell you the flow. I however only use a wet flow bench which prints on the port where the fuel is getting knocked out of the air, pooling behind valves. The neatest thing was when john, (the big ford guru some of you will know) sent my customer the biggest best 460 style heads he...

heh, i only read the very start of the thread, and stoppped, but i know what slow is talking about... the 500 needs more power, and when you have tires that hook everything, and gearing for a hair over 100, you the stock 500s hit is easy... throttle response is great, but it doesnt snap like it does...

yes, I couldn't agree more, but the point I was making is these bikes were designed as MX bikes to be ridden on MX tracks, that is why honda detuned the hell out of the thing to keep it rideable in the application it was sold for. If honda built bikes intended for sand drags, we'd probably see a de...

ading displacement is not what a cr500 motor needs, it doesn't even come close to taking full advantage of its existing displacement. compare it to a cr250, or yz or rm, it isn't that much faster for having twice the displacement. if honda tuned a 500 the same way they tune a 250 it would be an unr...

Re: street cr500
I rode my supermoto 500 all year last year and put about 2000 miles on it. No b/s. my daily drivers are broken, so i put over 500miles on the CR500 this week.. no BS.. lol i cant say it was fun the whole time though... interstate in traffic with a CR500 and a dim headlight... not the best times. i ...

A steel case saver is only as strong as the bolts that hold it on. you mean.. as good as the sheer strength of the bolt... and that should be significant.. anyway.. after breaking a maintained chain on a HawkGT.. ive determined that chain fate is determined by motorcycle gods, and thus, brea...

Re: Torque importance
just wondering How many of you use a torque wrench,is it really needed, besides the chance of breaking bolts what are the downfalls of not using one,I bought one shortly after I got my 500 but have tried it only once,I tried it on my head nuts but they seemed so loose so I just tightened them more a...
