OK, I got the engine in the frame and all buttoned up. It is a tight squeez, but fit just great! for future Gen. 3 build reference. I got the engine in, but there is some disassembly required: 1) remove the carb 2) remove the kickstart lever 3) remove the shift lever 4) remove the head (jug stay on) 5) remove the exhaust flange Doing this gives you plenty of room, and takes very little effort f...

I would think so since it looks like both sides spin the same direction, so it would pull the steering in the same direction. As I understand it, the shafts actually counter-rotate and thus eliminate the effect of torque-steer. The design has been seriously scrutinized and seems to be holding up pr...

I agree, you should be very worried about how much more torque the CR500 can make over that of a 250cc four stroke. I guarentee you that his system has very little margin due to weight control. The good news, is that they have already developed a system that works on a 450, which is a better match p...

Gen 3 final engine install ???
Hey guys, I am in the process of getting Billy's bike back together and figured I should ask some questions before I start. Here goes: 1) Will the engine fit into the frame without having to pull the jug or at the very least, the head and exhaust flange? 2) If the answer is no to no. one, can the ju...

FYI: bushings (sometimes called plain bearings) are typically either case-hardened or through-hardened. if they are through hardened, they will be very difficult to bore out without getting chatter and thus a poor surface finish (to corroborate Bob's original comment). If they are case-hardened, you...

agreed...Mylers does a great job, particularly if the rad is bent. If it's just a pin hole or a small tear, the Muggy weld works awesome due to the capillary action that you cannot get with JB Weld, plus it is aluminum filler on an aluminum part. In fact, it is likely what a radiator shop is going t...

not Bob...but I will take a shot at answering this one: The answer is YES if you are the type of rider that can take advantage of the chassis tuning and improved brakes and suspension that the newest generation Honda's offer over the older units. They turn better, are more flexible and as such are m...

BTW, they build motors for the karting crowd, or did, thats why they have lots of top-end power, and pull forever. TM still builds ICC Shifter engines (125cc) that compete very successfully in the worldwide karting scene. Properly tuned it makes about 46 HP but requires an intensive rebuild about e...
