make no mistake...I am not critiquing your concept, your design or your execution...quite the contrary, I think it is the single nicest conversion I have ever seen. My point was/is that not even SH can duplicate your work (and subsequent pre/post processing) and sell bikes for the same money. There ...

the difference is in the lever arm length that is trying to pry the weld apart during a stress event. The SH configuration uses three seperate parts to accomplish what that part does with one. That means there are a few extra weak sections between point A and point Z so to speak. The single part enj...

that's not a fair comparo Bob, that part distributes the loads very differently. It is also a dream piece in that the cost to produce that in quantity is very prohibitive. What AJ did was to modularize the parts so they could be made from less expensive billiets and then index them together so he do...

BTW: While I agree that the heavier welds at the top of the yoke and the rearmost location of the cradle tubes don't look as good as the single pass (row of dimes) weld beads look, you have to remember that function has to come before form. In this case, you are looking at multi-pass, overlapping we...

Yeah Brit...based on the reconstructed lower portion of the cradle, I would say it is one of AJ's bikes.

I was thinking that's what it was. So, I guess billet is ok to weld to this aluminum. of course it is...but...you want to hollow out the ends of the billet pieces so that the walls of the two pieces where they join together are similar. This does two things: 1) it makes welding the two pieces toget...

nope.....what you see there is a billet piece that is both the cradle tube and the engine mount incorporated into one piece.

I drained the engine of oil and any residual coolant FYI. I did lube the cylinder with fresh Super M but I think you already redid the cylinder/piston right?

Looks like the kicker doesn't rub the frame either.
it definitely touches the frame with the backlash in the kicker.

I base my B rider comment on the classes I raced and the comparative speed of the guys I rode with that were both faster and slower than me, and the classes they raced. Bob is better than he leads on...even better if he found a bike that would fit him...maybe this one: https://bannedcr500riders.com/...

the concept that is the two stroke is so incredibly superior to the four-stroke in terms of HP/liter that I find it hard to believe that the technology will be allowed to die entirely. That said, the only way we are likely to see them again is when they convert them to FI (Chrysler did long ago BTW)...

Bob is right about this, Cr 500 riders.com promotes these bikes which are good but not great. And for the money should be better. You have got to give Service Honda some credit however they are keeping the big bore 2 stroke alive in the mainstream which is good so that one day a manufacturer may br...

Actually, gen. two rads work better than gen. three rads for a gen. three conversion because you do not have to modify the lower cross-over spouts...they are already pointing at each other. I believe you still may have to modify the downward spout that is feeding the waterpump however.

What is the current capacity...750ml? So we'll bump it up to 950ml ( a quart is actually 948ml).

GUYS, I NEED A SOLID: Word on the street is that our good friend RJacks258 (aka Randy Jackson) is trying to get my designs (with drawings he got elsewhere, not from me) made in bulk so he can apparently sell them on eBay and probably the other site too. If someone sends me a sample of each, I can do both...with whatever design the group decides on. Otherwise, I would think it prudent to start by doing the clutch cover first. BTW: all that you have seen thus far is conceptual at best. If Bob wants a certain design or the group decides on a certain d...
