i have decided to rebuild my 450. i think the rebuild may come out cheaper than i was initially thinking as well. Didn't you mention money being a little tight and not wanted to spend a fortune? This is just my opinion, putting money into that old 450 would be the WORST use of money you could ever ...

Clearance is the issue. I have an 04 450 and the tank wont clear the plug. I have an aftermarket non-resistor cap and it's close. Thinking MAYBE if I massage the drain tube it might work. I rotated my outlet on the tank(03 450) 180deg and using the shorter BR8ECM. I only had to heat and angle the o...

I want to believe that we just killed him. But really you killed him and dumped him at sea because of his religious beliefs? Give me a break. If someone who is like public enemy #1 and is belived to may already be dead is assisnated, you show the world. That's the part of this story I don't get! Th...

basing it on how well the tranny works. you think im a rotella represenative or somethin ? :D Nah, I was just wondering how you decided one was good over the other. I think rotella is as good as any to use in the gearbox. I've always wondered why people spend high $$$ on oil for the tranny. I chang...

Re: oil
what kind of oil everyone tried ? rotella T seems to work good, probly the best ive tried What are you using to base your judgement on? Clutch action, shifting or something else? I've been using walmart "super tech" 20-50w for 4+ years now with zero clutch or tranny issues. Tried the atf ...

I'm not saying it is the cause but I can't help but wonder if bending the tube in T6 condition played a part in the breaks. I do think the mounts should have been wider as you already said. Props to you for showing the busted rails and those billets look bad ass! May have a break some where else but...

Funny story. I found the same thing you describe when I first got my donor a couple of years ago. Throttle control is your friend otherwise you'll find your ass on the ground in a hurry. Like you, you start riding a gear high and the motor doesn't feel or sound like it is working at all...

 yep, asking what the best oil is is like what's the best pickup on the road. Dig around on here and you'll find plenty of opinions. Just one thing of caution when you decide on the tranny oil. Use one of the brands for diesel engines. Most of the regular motor oils these days have additives th...

You will need the engine bushings bored or replaced to accept the larger swingarm bolt on the 85 motor. As for full cradle vs spliced, you could get lots of opinions on that and this is just mine. While the full cradle looks better, I wouldn't do it unless you had the means to anneal the new tubing ...

My only experience with EG work has been with a 250 yamaha and getting the 265 bore and mo better port. He does recommend the BP plug in most of his 2 strokes it seems. As for being able to tell a power difference from riding the bike with a BP or standard plug I felt zero change. Maybe I'm a so cal...

Yes that is a factory weld, however I believe the shit headstay design does not brace enough and causes additional stress here.. Can't dispute that! Might as well run without a headstay than use that. What did you do to correct your's? If i'm not mistaken they cut off part of the factory tabs that ...
