The VF II was installed new out of the box at initial assembly. It had less than 10 hours on it when I swapped in the VF III so it was fresh with very little use. This past weekend was the 1st ride with VF III. Just got it last week, maybe Wednesday or so. I think that duct insert is what makes the ...

V Force III VS II comparison result.
My take on the V Force III over the V Force II is positive. It Comes in two pieces, the reed cage and an insert duct that fits in the cage so as to direct flow into the reeds. The V Force II does not have this duct insert. The duct insert did not match the stock CR 500 carb flange so I took time wit...

Just for the record Maico used to offer 3 diffent base gasket thicknesses that allowed fine tune of desired powerband character. Ranged from thin for more bark down low to thick for more over-rev. It was noticeable. Particularly if you made fuel, pipe and or timing changes to compliment base gasket ...

Google "V Force Reeds" or try www.mototassinari.com . I just performed a "Buy Now" on Ebay for a V Force III to install in my 91 CR 500 powered gen III w/V Force II. Will post opinion on V Force III vs V Force II comparison ASAP.

V Force 3 vs 2?
Is upgrading to the new V Force 3 worthwhile? Moto Tassinari made a prototype run for the CR 500 and has the V Force 3 in limited supply (a few hundred I was told). I currently have the V Force 2 in my Gen III 500. Anyone switched yet? If so 2 cents worth please.....

Airstriker Jet Specs?
I have searched the site but have not had any success finding anything definitive. Has anyone suggestions or links to on jetting for 38mm PWK Airstriker jetting at sea-level for: 1991 CR 500 power in Gen III (just finished), new crank, piston, main bearings, seals, stock porting & head (polished...

On my gen III I moved the frame mount over to align with the head mount and just made two straight headstays. If you're not gen III double check tank clearance etc. See the pics at the link below.... http://www.bannedcr500riders.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=2970 http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm83/...

Two things: If the base gasket pushed out the cylinder base is probably warped. Have it checked before assembly. If the base bolts get overtightened the corners will pull down in the area around the base bolt holes causing the warpage. I just put one together that had that problem. The motor came fr...

I had gen 1 250 and 500. Raced both up here in the NW regularly 97-99. What worked for me was DEVOL pull-rods. They had an adjustable offset that if I remeber correctly allowed a 1.5mm shorter position, 1.5 longer position and stock. DEVOL recommened the 1.5 shorter for MX. This caused the steering ...

Gen III Headstay Alternative & More
Just thought I'd post some pics of a different method for the headstay. I move the mount on the frame over in-line w/head motor mount and made flat plates from .25 aluminum sheet. The front motor mounts I used round stock drilled out for 10mm bolt and welded in re-inforcing gussets in that area as w...

I have ordered the 125 bushings mentioned here on the site but the local Honda dealer hasn't gotten them in yet. What I was curious about is once I get them installed does the engine drop straight into the lower mount or did your engine require cutting one side and shimming the other to move the eng...
