Piston ID

Hi Can anyone ID my piston? It's 0.50 over and pretty new but the previous owner doesn't know the brand. Stamped inside is "HM50086". I want to replace the rings.

I would be interested in VForce 2's. If not available, what would be the next best choice?

This is what I did. Welded 4- 8mm threaded weld nuts in the frame then made up an aluminum skid plate. Easy enough to make up another plate if it gets damaged too. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/b9ed22f3de5f0d79df201c69c26a8dfc.jpg https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/349460bb204a647...

Thanks. I heard good things about the airstriker too.

The reason I wanted the cool head was the fact that I could switch back and forth between high and lower compression and it's easy to tap in a compression release.

What do you do to the head? Squish? What about a compression release?

Which carb and pipe for my setup?

I'm currently setting up my 92 CR500 for hill climbing on the local New England circuit. The hills here are not long and straight like in the midwest, they tend to be shorter and have different levels so it's not always WOT to the top, rather it's a series of levels you jump so I'm on and off the th...

Yeah the 750 is a handful. One of the local hills I run is the Monson Monster. They've been racing there since the 1920's. One of the oldest around. Can't wait to run the CR.

Thanks it was a huge job to get the pipes right and fabricate the carbon fiber covers. Landed on them twice already without a scratch on the pipes. They did their job. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/7e310cc47654471ae513b2431551c223.jpg https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/5e6c36aec64...

I might do an AF conversion on it. Not really sure. I might just go through it mechanically and clean it up and run it as is. One thing is for sure, this bike rips!

New guy from RI

Hi everyone. Just picked up a nice 92 CR500 yesterday. Rebuilt and newly powder coated engine. First one I ever owned. Always wanted one, now I know why. :D I plan to use it on the local hill climb circuit here in New England. Here it is. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/9c340af5ea3a29e73e3...
