Here is a link to some videos of Brit helping at Anglo/Welsh relations. When in Wales he operates ...

Bearing size

Thanks, that means we need a 2mm thick sleeve to make the old stem fit the new bearing.
Thats doable, other options were a lot less attractive?
By the way, have you ever found a non-Hoda source for sterring head bearings? They all seem to be non standard OD's & ID's

Im stuck with an old stem so I need the ID of the bearing to make up a sleeve.
Old stem is 26mm diameter, What is the diameter of a newer stem?

Chris
You are correct, 85-88 used same top and bottom.
Question is re the id of the larger, later bearing, whether this will fit on an early stem

Re: Help - Steering stem dimensions required

The problem I'm having is matching a 86XR600 front end onto the 98 CR500 frame.

Looking at the fiches on line, the same bearing is used for the bottom of the CR500 steering stem from 90 thru 2001, Honda part number 91015-KZ4-701, unfortunately I can find no dimensions online for this bearing.

I ...

Help - Steering stem dimensions required

I have run into a problem with my ice sidecar front end
I need the ID of the bottom taper bearing on the sterringt stem for a 98.
Does anyone have either the bearing or a stem they can measure for me?
Hopefully it is 26mm like the upper bearing!
Thanks

I just popped the head off my 86 to put in a decompressor. Although it has not been ridden as much as yours, I was pleased to see similar signs, bore is perfect, head burn is nearly symetrical and ...
