I'm 6'4'' also, 195lbs. I've read the 02 crf frame is one of the more rigid and possibly the best for big guys...i'm happy with the route i'm going... And desertrider, did your engine just barely fit in with those bushings? cause i'm like a britincali hair too tight to fit my one last washer... i'v...

I always stayed away fron them because in the mid nineties thae made a 50 mm conventional that was supposed not be that good for KTM ,it blew fork seals left and right. Dwayne the stud Jones told me the tolerences varied from set to set and you never new what you were buying but this was around 8 ye...

You only run the octane you need to keep from detonating, race gas in a stock motor will usually make less power unless it is oxygenated. Your after a burn for the fuel to stop burning at a certain degree after it has completed spark. Race gas burns slower so in the case of a 2 stroke you want all t...

I have a two frames for biulding two bikes and i would like to get at least one of them going before the Pismo trip. It sure would be easier to get a complete running engine now and get one ready so, I can work on getting the second to Pismo also. I missed (just couldn't bid higher then $1250) for ...

It has a more agressive curve down low and mostly in the middle. The bike is faster than a newer style. a generic answer, that doesnt answer the question  . where exactly is it that you get your information from ??? ive been around a while and never seen anything that shows what the differenc...

If you like fast open desert stuff the 89 tranny sux balls as the ratios are shorter. You just change the gearing . . No shit   My nitrous bike has an 89 bottom end and IMO for anything fast and open the ratios SUCK, if you gear it to the moon 1st is a pain in the tight stuff. It just h...

89 is a good motor besides the clutch missing one plate, the ignition curve is a little more stout than the newer ones. I like the close ratio trans of the 88-92. i been wondering for a long time what the difference in the CDI was. care to share some of your knowledge ? It has a more agressive curv...

it's amazing how the prices are going through the sky, I saw a 2001 stock bore go for 1050 a few moths back with all acessesories should have tried to pick it up. 89 is a good motor besides the clutch missing one plate, the ignition curve is a little more stout than the newer ones. I like the close ...

I am glad I ran into this thread...I am trying to buy wheels for a 95' CR500 and needed to know if 91 wheels would work. Acording to what I read here I am a go for any wheels in the back but, the rotor size is different in the front but, the wheels is the same? If I buy the 91 wheels they will work...

People would be building these things anyway but SH did put them back on the map and if a 2 stroke big single comes back into the game in the US their input will have helped this alot in the way they gave the bike good exposure. The SH I had for a total of 2 months was of nice quality,I was surprise...

More affordable (mainly the cranksaft) and this is going to be a duner on gas and I don't need 90 HP for this bike. They are having problems keeping the Sabers cool running gas and I don't want to have problems with it. This motor should be good for 75-80 HP on gas and that's plenty for what I'm go...

I've never had one idle on its own... partly due to not needing to, and not caring much. So warming the engine involves sitting in it with just enough throttle to keep it running. I've gone somewhat numb from the vibes, but thats probably no different than a bike and might be likened to a fairly vi...
