I did the same as Adam (per his recommendation actually). I got a silicone hose kit from eBay that I used for the upper hoses and the water pump to cylinder. I then used a straight piece of hose cut to length for the crossover and for the water pump to radiator I needed a hose with a 20* curve on on...

The bike has sold.
The buyer has paid for the bike. He was one of the very first to respond to the ad. Didn't want to take the ad down till I had money in hand.

1999 Service Honda CR500AF (rolling chassis). Newark, DE

**This is the rolling chassis only** , including the tank, seat, plastics, airbox, brakes and radiator. The reason for sale is that I used the motor (‘99 CR500) & electronics for another project. Please look at the photos below. The one photo of the complete bike is for illustration purposes on...

Nice! many street guys say the 1997-99 frame is more rigid in the head flex and prefer that AF over the others. That's interesting, but sucks since I have no title for this bike. My CRF however is already titled and tagged in my name/state. After I pull the engine/carb/electronics/exhaust I plan to...

Wow, that bike is absolutely beautiful. Congratulations!

What did you use for your motor mounts? Almost looks like you cut them out from another frame.

Thanks,

I believe conversionparts500.com makes a kit Thanks James, I took a look at their site and was able to get a bunch of info for my notes... 1. My 2004 CRF450R is definitely a "Gen3" (2002-2004 models) 2. they don't sell a kit (an email response from them also confirmed it) but they do sell...

Is that headstay off of a 250? Even the aluminum block, or is that something you fabbed up yourself?

How about the frame rails, did you bent them or were you able to find them pre-bent? If you did it yourself, what are the specs of the aluminum stock you used?

Thanks.

New guy from Delaware

Hi all, I just picked up a real clean 2004 CRF450R supermoto for a 500 conversion. It's plated, and I'll keep it that way, but my primary use for this bike will be to run it on the tighter road courses along the east coast, like NY Safety Track, Summit Point Shenandoah and Jennings. I'm looking for ...

Also, in the interest in saving time, I'd be interested in knowing what it would cost for someone to do the major fabrication work for me (frame, radiators & head stay). Please post here or send me a private message.

Thank you.

Nice. I'm building a CR500AF to run on the shorter sportbike tracks and would want it to run 120 on the front straights (usually 1/3 mile or so). Threads like this give me hope. Just need to figure out the engine build to do it... and one that'll last.

Anyone else having issues with the pics not showing in the first post? I'm looking for info on foing a conversion on my 2004 CRF450R. Pics of similar builds like this would help a lot.

Nice trap speed. Changing the gearing for the 1/4 mile, what do you think the top speed of the bike could be?

Newbie looking for help with 2004 CRF450R

Hi guys, I just picked up a low hour, super clean, street legal 2004 CRF450R supermoto. I plan to do a CR500 conversion and keep it street legal. However, it won't see a lot of street use. I really want to do the conversion and then gear it for 110 mph+ to run on the shorter and tighter road circuit...
