If all the parts are clean and good shape, you can easily make that much. It takes time and effort to break them all down, clean them, and post ads with good pictures.

Actually, I think the 05-07 CRF450R is one of the easiest and results in the best balanced bike. I didn't even have to mod the underside of the gas tank for the spark plug and can change the spark plug without pulling the gas tank. Also, the bike is slightly larger and results in a more comfortable ...

Welcome to the club! Coil location is somewhat dictated by the length of the spark plug wire. I mounted my coil to the bottom of upper right frame rail next to the gas tank and just behind the right radiator. The CP500 kit comes with a coil mount. Just face the wires towards the rear. I made another...

Well, I've been riding this bike for just over 1 year. I've gone to a 120/100x18 Maxxis Maxx Cross Desert Intermediate Terrain rear tire. Wow, what a great tire. My brother and I were working our way up a canyon wash when we came up on a 12' rock ledge. It had a small step in it, but looked pretty r...

Upload the pictures to a picture web sharing service like Photobucket. Then copy and paste the link Photobucket provides into a post and the pictures will appear when someone opens the post. Photobucket has 3-4 different links and I think its the bottom one (URL).

Carbon Fiber pipe guard for FMF pipe

I finally found a CR500 carbon fiber pipe guard. ELine has discontinued their carbon pipe guard for the CR500. Couldn't even find an old stock item. The aluminum "fits all" pipe guards did nothing accept add some weight. The rock dents went right through the alum guard and into the pipe. I...

Have you tried a standard CR500 FMF Gnarly pipe? I'm pretty sure it fits, but you may have to shorten the end where it slip fits into the silencer 1/4-3/8".

You should also look at the JD Jetting complete carb kit. He sells a new Keihin 38mm PWK Air Striker pre-jetted with spare jets and needles for $245. Pretty good deal. If you purchase a new Air Striker and it comes with the wrong slide, jet, and/or needle, you will spend more than $245 getting it al...

I went with a Keihin 38mm PWK Air Striker. If you are only interested in peak HP, then the original PJ works fine. The problem with the PJ is it is impossible to tune out the off idle lull/dead spot. If you want seamless throttle control without the sudden hit, then the Air Striker is the way to go....

These are life savers. I cut up several radiators to get these. I recommend changing the CRF inlets and outlets to these 90 degree fittings. The original CRF inlet on the left is a larger diameter and the CR500 hose does not fit. I also added a new inlet to the right side radiator so I can route eac...

Small issue. Changed the oil on it yesterday. The 3/4" hole in the skid plate needs to be elongated because the 17mm CR500 drain plug goes in at a 45 degree angle. Used a Dremel with a small milling bit to elongate the hole. Now works great.

New Stickman Graphics. I wanted my bike to look like a modern aluminum frame CR500 with OEM graphics. Alex cut the CR500 graphics in the same style as the CRF450R graphics and they fit perfect! I highly recommend Stickman graphics. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/de3d9072f686945fe235e76860...

I've been riding this bike for a few months now. It is absolutely the best bike I've ever owned. I had an issue with the fuel lines kinking. This was caused by my turning the fuel tank bottom fitting rearward to clear the spark plug. I elected to turn the fuel tank fitting rearward rather than heating and deforming the bottom of the fuel tank (this was to clear the spark plug). The OEM petcock ...

What is the best Carburetor for the CR500?

What is the best Carburetor for the CR500? I’m interested in your experiences with carbs for the CR500. My OEM carb starts easy, but has a "4 cycle spot” from 1/8-1/4 throttle and then a big hit when it goes into 2 cycle above 1/4 throttle. It’s very difficult to tune out during the summer heat...

If you are converting a 2005-2008 CRF450R, the fuel tank clears the spark plug as long as you reverse the fuel fitting on the bottom of the tank (fuel line points to rear). I tried both the 450R and a 450X fuel tank and it clears both.

I found the works Connection CRF450R skid plate on Amazon for a great price. The front two mount holes worked great, but I had to drill two new rear mount holes as the J mount brackets would not clear the engine case on the right side. 26 May 2014 Update Last weekend I installed a new 90/100-21 Dunlop MX71 front tire, decreased the sag to 102, installed new Helix fuel line, installed 172 and then 175 main jets, 55 pilot jet and adjusted the air screw. I have a small lean spot from 1/8-1/4 throttle so I first tried lifting the need...
