Update, pulled shock out, clamped carb in nice and tight. Ran the heat gun on both boots for a while, heating evenly and sneaking up on it. Let it sit overnight and she seems to be holding the "memory" when the carb was removed. Now, just to deal with the seal to the box.... Ordered up ano...

the X has a LED tail light in the rear fender. The front number plate on the X has a head light. The airbox has a battery on the X. I would bet the R airbox or even the X airbox would be fine. The rest is the same as far as I know.
