Good job, report back on how it all holds together and how it handles compared to your other rides... Theres always more than one way to skin a cat though.... this seems to me the easiest and cleanest way to do it... https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/0c91a8dad29e736d3b47600ab6ba8e47.jpg Bri...

The 250f is a very tight fit, I've seen the SH ones and not liked their engine clocking or any of the fitment. The 250f is better suited to the cr250 conversion. I've done one with a 2001 engine and it was very nice. The 4 cr500 gen5 conversions I've built have been in the crf450 frame. Do not use ...

Gen 5 cr250af Help!

Hey guys Taylor here, I've recently picked up a 2012 crf250r and a 1997 cr250r. My plan is to do the conversion using the 1997 cr250 motor. I need some help getting started. What is going to be the best and strongest way to raise the Y. I really like the oem cast Y but don't want to compromise stren...

I had about 5 minute run time on lathe and then the front side was an hour and a half because of the 1/32 end mill at .0003 per tooth so it was super slow. The inside took about 15 minutes.

heres a few more pics for you guys. I wish i could make more of these and get into other parts. I truly enjoy doing stuff like this but the prices of machines, tooling, computer, solidworks, mastercam make it nearly impossible to start a small job/performance shop. I wish i had access to the machine...

Finally Got time to finish my cover up. Ended up replicating the oem cover except out of some 6061. I have the solid model for anyone who is interested. Cover came out really good I'm happy with it. https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/52d0f622a98b0a356b443ed6e6be84c2.jpg https://bannedcr500rid...

Solidworks file for stator cover

anyone have a drawn up stator cover for solid works that i could use? I started drawing up my own but am having trouble trying to figure out the geometry of the cover. Im trying to make this in my cnc machining class at school. We are using solidworks/mastercam to program. Parts are for a 1997 cr250...

Is this build done yet!!? It is march of 2014 you know! Not yet, waiting on the Airbox piece to get done. Hopefully it will be done in the next couple of weeks... I have sent out my fuel tank pieces to be hard coat anodized, then I will wrap this on up and move onto the 2013 that I am using ...

I just finished my 97 CR500AF myself. I agree that the chassis was not Hondas greatest achievement however this is the CHEAPEST and EASIEST AF conversion. Took me longer to sell my 250 motor and buy a 500 motor. I found me a good local machine shop and the total conversion cost me about $150. Here ...

You forgot to include another option in the poll. "Just go buy an OEM ally frame 250." JMHO, but that's a lot of work for something you can buy used and I'd bet there's enough for sale. Unless you are just looking for a project. If you're going to do an AF conversion, do a big bore. The 2...

2009 Crf450r Conversion? 1997 Cr250 or find a parts bike?

I have a 1997 cr250r which is a nice bike and it rides decent but nothing like my 2012 crf. I might have the opportunity to buy a 2009 Crf450r rolling chassis cheap..!! Ive been reading alot but it is all about cr500 motor swaps. I work at a machine shop so making mounts and welding them in wouldn't...
