It's not lying, it does run great. It runs really clean and has plenty of power, better than a friend's 01 250, especially off the pipe. I've told the 2 people that have contacted me already that the bottom end is noisy. It's also listed well under blue book, and i fully anticipate to get lowballed ...

01 CR250 running for $1k, great for an AF conversion

Sold my 01 steelie about a month ago, then got the bug to buy another 2 stroke. Found this thing, picked it up and immediately hated it. Motor makes more noise than any dirtbike I've ever heard in my life , although it has decent power and the trans is alright. Will need bottom end work, not sure if...

I'm probably going to be getting rid of my 500 next year, the few times a year I ride at the dunes don't warrant such a monster of a bike. I'm seriously faster riding in the woods on my CRF70. I'm fearless on a little 70 cc bike, but I'm still a bit timid of the 500 and after about 5 hard laps of an...

Wouldn't it work on an '87/88 500 too? I have an '87 wheel on my 01 500 for a paddle tire.

No idea, I sent my stuff out to Glen at GSS in California to get ported when I needed a bore.

I'd check with Tech Care and see who they use.

I know plenty of good automotive machinists, but don't know if any of them work on bikes (LSM, Thompson automotive, etc..)

I just bought an RK520XS0 for mine, we'll see how it lasts. It looks like a fantastic piece.

I've heard the Renthal chains are rebadged DID's.

I've been guilty of using the "too much metal for just one hand" satan fingers on multiple occasions. It's nice to see this documented for generations to come.

Got my 39 from Sudco in, rode it at a friend's place yesterday. It's kinda cool here, but my bike wouldn't even idle with a 45 in it. Tried a 52 and it's still on the lean side, stuck a 55 in there and it seems to be better. Still is a little soft from idle - 1/8 throttle, but it's liveable. Overall...

You've got bigger balls than me for starting out the evening with Steel Reserve... One of my cousins visited Hungary about 3 years ago, and brought me back a bottle of absinthe. I've tried it on 3 separate occasions, and I haven't really tripped off it, but it is a drunk feeling unlike what I'm used...

Another option besides the SH piece is to swap over to a Cr250 ignition, most of those have much higher wattage lighting stators available.

If every swinging dick in the universe that wanted a PWK for $162 just called Sudco and said they were from Banned to get one, Sudco would be out of business. That's why I didn't call and complain. Not terribly thrilled, but it's not like I'm an incredibly active member here. I just want to go ride...

Apparently I'm not one of the "in" crowd, John erroneously sold me a 38pwk. I specifically mentioned this site, too. I shipped the 38 back, received my 39pwk today, and got one that appears to be custom jetted for a "stock CR500" and cost a whopping $265. Mind you, after I alread...

PJ doesn't equal powerjet. You have the stock PJ carb on your bike, unless you've got the extra hardware pictured here:

I'm going to have to gear it down to something like 11/53 in order to feel the difference from the 39 PWK I'm bolting on there, but I like the supermoto idea. Figure 8's would be much better suited for minibikes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfAMuSuaPio&feature=channel_page (courtesy of the sa...

No sweat, man. When you aren't graced with hundreds of places to ride all year round, you've gotta make do. Admittedly turfing my own lawn is a bit silly, but it was wrecked anyway.

Next step is a fmx ramp in the driveway and a foam pit in the middle of the oval. :P

Instead we went trail riding at my buddy Gene's place in Holly. I'm slowly learning how to ride this thing, I'm not scared of the th...
