Another KTM CR500 conversion
No pictures yet. So I placed a ad looking for blown up KTM's (I was looking for winter project) Within a couple of weeks I acquired a KTM 250 XCW rolling chassis, no engine. 2 days later I came across a 1990 CR500 engine. Now the fun begins. I decided that I want to build a newer looking KTM with a ...

Re: Husaberg conversion?
The issue I'm having is the forks, maybe I will tear them off and revalve them myself (since I'm off the bike for 12 more weeks) I have a CR500 in a 02 450 frame and do not like it at all (suspension is brutal, even after 2 revalves). So I have been on the hunt for another rolling chassis (prefer a ...

No dice on picking this one up cheap. He wanted too much and was keeping the forks.
I did end up buying some blue wheels for my KTM's.

Husaberg conversion?
I have a CR500 in a 02 450 frame and do not like it at all (suspension is brutal, even after 2 revalves). So I have been on the hunt for another rolling chassis (prefer a KTM because I have a 525, 450, 350). I'm pretty sure it won't work. But I'm going to look at a 2010 Husaberg FX450 today. Motor i...

WTB - 2003 CRF450 stator assembly
Ended up with a 2003 CRF450 in a vehicle deal/trade.
It needs a cheap/working stator assembly. Pulser coil is damaged.
Thanks

2005 CRf 250 or 2007 CRf 450?
I have a 02 CRf 450 framed 500 and really enjoyed building it and the final product. Looking at building another AFC and have a line on 2 bikes 05 CRf 250 ($300 cheaper and has a blown engine to part) 07 CRf 450 (no motor to part out) So, the 250 would be cheaper to build. Would the newer suspension...

Clean weld areas. Just prior to welding (oxidation)
Have a set of clean (aluminum only) tools for welding AL as well, files, brass wire brushes, non-lint rags. Do not use brake cleaner for cleaning (do research why)

Two thumbs up (unless you are like my uncle, one thumb and a stub) Makes tire installation a lot easier, holds the bead down. If you change a lot of tires or put on a few ice racing tires these things are worth it. I just installed a set of Marcel Fournier two way ice tires last nite and these helpe...

FYI so everyone knows. The man that has built/designed the MF44 tire has nothing to do with MF44 anymore. His website is www.marcelfournier.ca, his tires will not be legal in AMA events. Uses the lagonacross for 19 rears Uses a Motoz for the 18 rears (just got my set last week) He uses 1 1/5 screws ...

Mikuni carb with many many patterned little hole drilled in the bell of the carb in a swirl design. I tried one on my 96 250 for oval ice racing. it was a mother fucker to jet correctly, but once it was jetted correctly that thing would rip. everything affected it, humidity/Bar. pressure/atmospheric...

I think the broker fee is waved if you have it shipped priority air. It ends up costing the same, but you get your parts in a 2-3 days after being shipped. I agree that the UPS thing is total bullshit. I hate those pricks.

I used a 95or 96 subframe Airbox is 92 to 94 ish Sub frame needed minimal bending to get it to work. Seat fits OK. I need to re-cover it (Seat bends up at the tank and wrinkles the cover) Been riding this one all winter and love it. This thing is a blast on the ice. I have a 05 KTM 525 set up for th...

US frame to Canada
I bought a frame from Eastern states to have it shipped to Calgary Alberta (2-3 yrs ago). End result was that UPS and customs totally fucked me over (I think UPS started the pile up). Long story short - I told the shipper to label frame as (Used Bike Parts), he did not, he labeled it “Motorcycle fra...

GST, RIV fee, and duty. (as stated above)
I have had a 500 since 91, raced 250-500 MX (intermediate) from 91-94
500 for really tight single track is tough going. Like Caseyracing222 stated, a 250 is better for trail riding
But a 500 for desert, fire roads, ice, they are fricken awesome.
