So I checked my reeds and lo and behold the top reeds were stock honda and bottom were the after markets....got those swapped out for a new set of the "super stock" fiber glass reeds and bike seems to run a bit cleaner now but i still have the original issue.

The bike wont idle to start and I believe it is too rich from off idle to ~1/8-1/4 throttle. after about 1/4 the bike feels good up to the top but I do have real bad vibrations from 3/4 on, bad enough that at wfo I can hold onto the bars, I know these beast ...

Thanks to all for the feed back. I stepped down to a 48 and a 165 and it got ALOT better stepped down to a 45 and 160 and now the thing frekkin flys. Gonna wait for my new airscrew assembly to show up and ill start fine tuning some more so itll hopefully idle

Ill have to try thoose, I use a pair of my oakley sunglasses with the darkest tint availible underneath some tinted gogles and it works alrite.

Im 21 and have retinitispigmintosa or however u spell it, and the same stuff happens to me just drivin down the road plus shaded spots are black and once i go into the shade the non shaded parts are bright bright white, shit sucks tryin to ride forest stuff sometimes.

yea the idle adjustment nor choke setting effects its idle, is that a good indication that my pilot is still too rich? And yes im at 5000ft.

Ok so:

Started with god knows what i couldnt read the jets, no idle top end falls on its face

Picked up a 58 slow 170 main, was told this was stock as i didnt have a manual at the time. Same results as before no idle top end falls on face choke has no change air screw gives no change

I cleaned it once and put it back, and it acted the same. So i pulled it again cleaned it normally with the can and straw then took air to it then carb dip then air again, im 99% sure its completely clean.

So i bought my 500 back from my friend for $200 after he tore the bike down and got it all powder coated :D. He said he couldn't get it to start, the ground wire on the coil was disconnected. So now it starts but does not idle, holding the throttle just slightly open it stays running, then pulls ...

I had a 07 450x went out to the desert a couple times with it then rode a friends 500 and sold the 450 as soon as i got back..been loving it ever since, only one thing i dont like abiut it is the vibration sometimes starts to really mess with my hands
