What did the lever end of the push rod look like? I had to machine a new bushing for the input shift (lever end) my push rod was torn up and the lever looked just like yours all rounded over. i can get material, and if need be, i still have the original y. im not worried, the input is appretiated. no, im in ohio . do you really think this looks like crap? its perfectly symetrical and perfect clean welds.. better than the factory welds i think..

I dont know if youve gotten that far, but a heads up, your tank is going to need some mods... i have a 250x also, without the plug in the head the tank only sits about 3/4 " above the head. ill take pics to show how ive done it.
