I dont know what works in california dunes, but on oregon sand I was very pleased with the 10 scoop skat trak hooker i had. 8 paddles just dont cut it... and 12's are typicaly a bit much for bikes without heavy modifications. the paddles with the center rib might add stability, but they are heavy ...

I have a 500 crank setting on my work bench.
I'll see if I can get the measurements that you need, asap.

Does your crank have the tinned wheels? I would like to know the diameter of cranks with and without the tin.. as well as a width measurement of a assembled crank taken at the outside of the ...

Is someone thinking of putting a 500 crank into a 480 (is that possible???)?
I am trying to put one in my 480.. so far I know that I will have to machine a bushing to house the ignition side crank seal, and possibly turn down the crank wheel outer diameter.. I really want my 480 to have a full ...

cool heads usually come with a generic domes.. The advantage is interchangablilty not performance.. IMO money is better spent on having an OEM head modified for your particular needs.. with ideal squish clearance for your particular engine, elevation, porting, rpm range, and the fuel to be used...

wasn;t the cr480 and cr450 the same bore different stroke? I know the kicker was on the other side on the 450, but I do wonder if you could flip a cr450 crank or find some way to adapt it to fit.
Those cranks have 4-stroke style crank wheels that would drastically lower crankcase compression ratio ...

deck wont be a problem.. the difference are made up in the piston height.. not cylinder or cases.. spacers are only needed on a 250r when the early piston is used with the long rod, or if the crank is stroked

If you divide 8x2 you get what?

Thats a joke right???

i think he was saying if you have .008 feeler gauge in there you should have roughly .004 on each side

that is the wrong spot to measure and feeler guages are useless for bore measurement... but in theory if you had .004" on each side that ...
