Radiators have different left side hose locations and therefore different hoses on the 89 and 90-01. Bypass hose up top is facing opposite direction but that's no big deal. Somebody just told me on the other site that 90+ work on 89 no problem. He has 01 parts on his 89. So 90-01 rads and rad hoses ...

Anyone have a radiator lying around somewhere they can measure for me? I need to find out if the mounting points are the same for the frame side and the shroud side. Also if the dimensions are the same with the overall size of it. To me they look the same but they changed the routing on the left sid...

Radiator interchangeability
Anybody have lots of radiator knowledge? My 89 needs some new rads and rad hoses. I can find radiators no problem but can't seem to find any hoses. There is some hoses on eBay that say they'll fit an 89 yet they have hoses pictured for 90-01 that are shaped differently. Ads claim 89-90 or 89-91+...

I clean the swingarm with soap or degreaser and usually just wipe out the bearings and put in fresh grease. All the bearings I've had are nice and clean and rust free though. If your bearings are rusty or really dirty and/ or full of sand you will have to clean more thoroughly or replace them. You c...

Yeah it got hot and seized. I was cruising down a dirt road. All of a sudden it bogged down and lost power and shut down. Rear wheel did not lock up. The head nuts were barely more than hand tight when i tore it down. Hardly took any pressure to loosen with a wrench. Somehow they came loose and it s...

I used Yamaha pegs on my 89. They are the same mounting as the 01 you saw but have a different centerline on the mount. This puts the pegs slightly lower and back from the Honda pegs and make things more comfortable for bigger riders. 98-04 yamaha are all the same. Yz yzf wr.... All the same pegs. C...

Oh i agree its plenty fast as is (or was) especially in low to midrange on trails. The only thing it lacked was on top on high speed desert runs. Part because the close ratio 89 gears and part due to the 14/51 gearing i had. Same as stock i believe. I am going to try 15/51 after the rebuild and see ...

Yes I did get THAT answer about the crank.... That wasn't the only thing I asked. I really need to know what machine work needs to be done for the 91mm piston. Obviously bore the cylinder. What about the head? Some say it needs to match the bore and others say it doesn't. Can't get a clear answer on...
