I'll try to post a biography here later today, but heres the scene, 15yr old lil ...

I put a set of carbon tech low end on a stock 86 cage, and a set of top end ones on an 88 cage, i think the low end ones made a difference, but more uptop than anywhere, and the supposed high end ones did SFA anywhere over stock!

Danny, you think that volume difference after the reed is making any difference in that engine compared to a v force designed for the long runner?

radiators and case questions

Ok I've seen a post somewhere that had steelie rads on an AF, anybody know more about that or where I find it?

Also, I'd seen a post or something where a guy was welding the windage part of the crankcase tighter and re-machining it and decking the cases, where do I find that info?

i agree, dont let it become one of those things thats going to distract you from having fun.
if you're going to be haunted by the "what if" factor, then solve it by dooing what you need to.

'84 and '85 share a pain in the ass mainshaft, clutch basket and bearing, also they have a different spline count on outputshaft I'd prefer the 86+ because it can all be updated to the larger clutch and covers etc, without splitting the case and changing shafts! http://f02cxa.bay.livefilestore.com/y...

ok, its going to be outrageously oversized, but heres a pic of a factory '88 (same as '87) jug on '88 cases, its got that much room arround it, and at the floor, i dont agree with the "snug" comment, thats why the dowell pins at the side of the jug locate it on the case, however the size i...

I made a pair of small axel adjuster blocks for my '02 cr250, and a bushing to slip in the brake, now I can run the 18" rear on the small axel, and swap it from my 500, my 500 extention can use either axel aswell

ya gotta watch the term "wider", the 98-01 gears physical width is more than previous years, but still fits the cases and mixes with '86+parts. The ratio is "wider" as compared to the close ratio '88-'92 trans. if you can get a trans for under 180.00 us your still cheaper than bu...

i have a hard time in the tight hilly trails on my "86 engined '88, it likes to wheelie hard and when i'm in this one place thats a tight left banked corner in the bush, i always roll into it in 3rd and it pulls hard, but at almost the end of the corner gets in to its rang where you swear the t...
