Looks great! What are you going to do for your rear shock? I wanted to put a new shock on my 85' but the way the frame is laid out you have to stick with a remote resovior. I would love to update to new forks and shock on my bike.

Thanks amigo! The pipe was sitting since and helped free up enough cash to rebuild my YZ250 motor so I can get back to spinning laps in the fall. Thanks agian for the kind words. I still have the 84 CR500 head/cylinder and the 83 CR480 head/cylinder for sale. That money will go into parts for my 500...

I'll do 150 for the pipe plus shipping. I can check on shipping tomorrow morning, I wouldnt think it would be more than 20 bucks. If it is I'll try and work with you to keep it reasonable.

1984 CR500 DG Pipe, 83 CR480 Cylinder/Head fs or trade

I Have a DG Pipe for a 1984 CR500 in very good conition. Less that 1 hour on it and a 1983 CR480 cylinder and head in good condition. I bought it as a only having 1 bore on it but I never verified it and the project I bought it for never panned out. I greased the cylinder to keep it from rusting. ht...

1. Set bolt for swing arm pivot. adjust for chain alignment 2. Check pipe fitment ( especially pipe outlet position. Clock motor as needed) 3. Check airbox fitment. Close is ok. Pipe fitment is more important. 4. Mod / Replace cradle as needed. Sweet. I did come up with another set back later last ...

After finaglin' the cases in this frame I am having a hard time figuring out exactly how I would attack this. I have been looking at othe conversions and 4t cradles seem to have more room and it is more moving the "Y" than anything. When bolted together at the swingarm pivot it seems to be...

YZ250 piston question

I did a topend on my 250 a few weeks ago. Rod felt good up and down but a good amount of side to side, I was told this is ok? Just making sure. Ok my real question. When going through this motor I was in a hurry and did it in a dimly lit area. I know better but it is what it is. But I finished, she ...

Thanks for the replies! I have still been working on it as much as possible. I'm modifying the steering stops to work with the different triple clamps. 2strokesforever, I am really interested in this setup. Do you have a part number or a place I can order one of those dc to dc converters?

Also I am electrically dumb, where would you wire this in, before the ground? maybe a simple diagram of how it works? This seems like a really great idea!

Cable operated choke for PJ

Has anyone ever seen a cable operated choke for the stock PJ Carb? I was going to run a bar mounted choke lever on my tracker project. I thought I remembered seeing this setup on Baja 500's for letting off the throttle after long wide open sections. I will eventually step up to a pwk, is there one a...

I started skinning the rear section. Got some pictures of the progress I'll upload. The expansion chamber has got me stumped. The stock pipe doesn't fit with the air-cooled cylinder. I made some cuts in it and have tried to make some changes by twisting sections around and it was totally not working...
