Vegas to Reno

Thinking about running it, I'm already late for sign up but don't really care I'd be iron manning and looking for a finish more than placing. It's 550 miles this year....a long ass way!!! I'd ride my 650, entry is not a ton of money and living in Reno and knowing people logistics for this one would ...

Reef girls are legendary. They used to be on the last page of surfer magazine, I used to flip my copy open to that page the minute it showed up.

Being an asshole is what ride reports are all about, its the moto-ers version of facebook. "look at me i'm having a delicious double mocha at starbucks right now" our version "I'm riding the living shit out of my dirtbike on these really awesome trails while you are staring at your co...

reading my reply I found that sand in my vag really does appear to be the reason and I voted appropriatly.

How are your guys fall sessions....I realize sunlight hours, cold nights, potential storms and all that apply but it seems you have a similar season to mine. Fall is my favorite here.

Haha your almost in Mexico!!!!! The riding was actually really easy, nothing technical at all but we were on my 650 and some people have a hard time manhandling a bike that big. Anyone is always welcome to come to Reno though...I'll put on a great ride for whatever level anyone wants to ride and any...

I did a little over 200 miles in a little under 6 hours, we were in good shape when I gave him the bike to finish well before the trophy trucks got anywhere near us. The last 100 miles of the course I had prerun the most and I had that section pretty dialed. I'm coming around about the whole team th...

looks like you could use a section of a stock CR500 rad hose upper section with a prebent curve in it and just clip to fit or go to your local auto parts store and find some prebent heater hose. The stuff under the tank while not the prettiest thing I have ever seen looks like it will work and shoul...

The XR back home!!!!

I pulled all the street legal crap off my bike to run the Baja 500, when I got back home I didn't really turn it back into an enduro. I bolted the plate on, some dummy turn signals and lame mirrors I can't see a thing out of and thats really it. I havn't been pulled over yet and I have passed a buch...

My buddies who ride the KTM's have zero problems but like I said they only keep them 2 years and then they turn into someone elses problem. My friends seem to be close enough on ideal weight and all that and can get them to work pretty dam well right out of the box....2 years get the next one. Reaso...

Everyone around here that I ride with is pretty much rolling on the latest version of the big KTM 4 stroke. They work really well and I must give KTM credit for their hard parts catalog, man they make everything you could ever want for those things. They seem to hold up pretty well, most the guys I ...

I'm getting old, I was never all that great at riding motorcycles and I am certainly not getting much better. I have always just ridden for fun knowing it would never amount to anything other than that. So it really comes down to smiles per mile. The CR puts as big a grin on my face as anything I ha...

I actually like the color of halogen better than really anything else, I carry an extra bulb for the halogen and when it's wound up on the AC side the thing is really close in output to the same light with HID that a friend has. I'm looking at the LED's to fill in the gap, just not sure if I want th...

Ive been looking at some of that cree stuff they come in different configurations like bar mounted, battery powered etc. The halogen light gets way out there, its fully adjustable so I have been playing with where I like it. I think if I ran that halogen up higher and then filled in the closer gap w...

So for the Baja 500 thing I went all through my xr electrical and got everything working right. I gutted most of the dual sport kit and put all the needed crap under the seat. I don't have a horn anymore and my blinkers are just dummies.....I don't go grocery shopping on the thing. I updated the hea...

You shouldn't see light through your reeds, if it takes a second to clear out and then goes that sounds more fat than lean. Bob is the man with the PWK's, I really don't know what you have going on but the bike shouldn't bog out in first....it should throw you on your back if you twist crazy in first.

I'm with you Bob, I can write off almost anything easy. Those are inexcusable for sure but the part that is still burning my biscuit is the false reality. I remember that write up Bob....very similar. 1. First time I talked to the guy he had ridden my XR and said it bottomed out everywhere (really its sprung for me how big is this guy?) 2. He claims to my friends the bike will not make it, he will do a compression check (auto decompress needs to get o...
