I think it's about 3.5 gallons. Never checked how many miles I get to a tank but I've ridden all day with mixed on and off rode riding and always had plenty of fuel left at the end of the day.

Good to know it worked out smoothly for at least one person! If the repair on my original cover ever fails I'll give the late model 2 piece cover a go.

I have, but unfortunately the swap to a '90+ cover creates issues with the mechanical rear brakes. The 2 piece covers are 10 millimeters wider than the 1 piece covers and you end up with clearance issues with the rear brake lever.

Properly jetted and geared, 2 strokes are fine on the road. I've ridden my supermoto all over the place with the only ill effects being numb hands from the vibes at certain speeds.

Installed a Pro-Cycle dual sport kit and went from 13/51 to 14/50 gearing so she's not on the pipe at 45mph and I can now ride to the local trails instead of loading it on the truck. The bike didn't mind the gearing change at all. It's got about 30hp more than what I really need for most trails ...

The prison sentence is much worse for using a bike other than a CR500 for dual sport use than it is for putting lights on one.

Forks, triples and axle bolt arrived today so I got to work this evening. Everything bolted up pretty well. Only thing that needs to be addressed are the caliper bracket bolts. The '90 bracket bolts are a little too long. I spaced them out for now. I'll have to order up '97 bolts.

I ended up putting a new PC silencer on the bike. If the need arises, I'll stick a sparky in the thing to be legal.

Found forks from a '97. Very clean set that also comes with upper and lower triple trees. I already have a front wheel that came off of my motard when it was set up for dirt. These suckers should bolt right up to my '90, correct?

Took my '90 out for a serious ride for the first time today. Rocky, rutted, gnarly single track/woods ride. The front end is way harsh and deflects off just about everything it touches. Does anyone have tips and/or fixes to get the front end to cooperate?

Thanks. Ordered a skidplate, frame guards and new air filter. Should have them next week. Got a new rear tire for it today. Going to freshen up the paint on the frame as soon as it warms up some and have some fun!

Gave the bike a bath and did some riding. What a beast! I'm going to replace some hardware, freshen up the paint on the frame, recover the seat, add a skid plate, steering damper, lights, stick a plate on it and use it to connect trails legally.

The rear fender on this bike is from UFO, and the color is pretty much a dead on match. I have Maier plastics on my '86 and the color is also very, very close to the factory color. Isn't actually cheap buying a whole plastic kit, though!

Believe it or not, I got them from Honda through my local dealer. Honda didn't discontinue the boots...yet.
