I was there the day the one at the Cosmosphere rolled down the street to where it is displayed today and have seen it many times since. I am still struck by how large it is and how tiny the cockpit area is. It's pretty crude looking by today's standards.

Not that any of you would ever come to Kansas, but here is a link to the Kansas Cosmosphere where there is an actual SR-71 on display. You can stand right next to it and touch it. Pretty cool and the place has a bunch of NASA space stuff on display too.
