I really hope that isn't so. Having to buy a case half instead of a 10$ bushing seems insane. Went down to my local Honda dealer and we ordered Ref# 5 in the Swingarm section. He said the schematics weren't always in the exact right place. The name, BUSH, PIVOT THRUST, and look of it seems as close ...

HELP! Can anyone help me with a part number for the metal bushing at the back of the crankcase where the swing axle goes through? The collar on it has cracked/broken off and I can't find it in Hondas fiches. http://www.hondaparts-direct.com/fiche_select2.asp?category=Motorcycles&make=Honda&y...

I recently found a crack in my cast piston and I have ordered a Wiseco but they didn't have one in 89,25 mm so now I need to bore the cylinder as well. Then I thought I might port it when I need to do this much anyway so now I've bought lots of rotary tool accessories and also a pneumatic rotary gri...

A guy here in Sweden did almost the same. CR500 in a KTM 450 -08 chassi, built in a week. I know the thread is in swedish but there's a lot of build pictures if you wanna take a look. There is also a youtube clip.

Well... how did it go??? Really curious! Maybe hard to compare performance after you had such a long break from riding? I've started to overhaul my own '99 CR5 and I'm porting it a bit myself before having it bored. Work in progress. Far from done https://bannedcr500riders.com/images/auto/c10455ae3d...

What part of the piston do you machine out to lighten it and can you always use your stock/previous piston as a benchmark?

Shoulder alright yet? Why are there indentations above the exhaust ports? I have the same in my cylinder and got a bit concerned at first but it seems I'm not the only one who has them... If you've ridden it properly; what kind of characteristics did you get from the port job? More midrange, top end...

Sun, snow and big slides in Sweden

Maybe winter isn't so bad after all. We had a wonderful day yesterday. The sun was actually warming us but not melting the ice into slush, all our friends that wanted got to try the 500, the missus brought the kids and made some hot dogs over an open fire. This day I didn't flip my bike (but got a p...

O crap! Do you have to redo the front arc of the frame? I hope my CRF450 '02 donor frame has more clearance :?

edit: Double-crap! Doesn't look like it has... The CRF's exhausts exit either side of the single frame spar :( Might be a challenge to modify my frame...

What plastic kit fits my '99 CR500 best?

As the topic says, what year/model plastic fits the CR500 '99 the best if I want a newer look?

(Broke my rear fender today. Flipped it. I know, I suck) :D

Today I finally got to test my CR properly with studded tires on a lake nearby. Unfortunately I forgot to cover the back brake. Ah well, the rear fender was awfully scratched anyway. What year 250-fender fits/looks best? :)
