I'm curious about what others have to say about this headstay. It seems like there is alot of controversy about what works best. http://gallery.me.com/lonewolf039/100023/P8120003/web.jpg?ver=12817485820001 Not sure on the straight head stay, but the round version I did on my 450 conversion is holdi...

My 94 ignition always showed weak to no spark; ran and started fine, but always a weak or non visible spark when I would check. I got a 99 250 compete set up and when I check you can see a nice bright blue spark every time. The hype of the 250 giving you more power, more top end, gotta have life ins...

Are the pre 93 analog ignitions an option as far as crank taper, stator and flwheel? I don't think the earlier units will work, but I could be wrong. I honestly have a hard time telling any difference with the 99 250 set up compared to my stock 500 set up ignition wise; maybe revs a little higher. ...

i cant change a plug on my conversion with the tank on anyways.o5 crf 250/500 are the 450 framed conversions easier to plug change (tank clearance) I have a ratcheting plug wrench, no problem breaking it loose or torquing it down. Now reaching my big old hands in there to spin the plug is not gonna...

Running a heavy duty tube just makes it heat up worse and the tire deteriorates more rapidly. Same thing with running low pressure..... Lots of trade offs here between traction, weight and tire life. I use baby powder and have a couple UHD tubes that are well over 3 years old and you can still see ...

Thanks to All with an opinion. I raced the bike at Mammoth this year with a 39 PWK, PC pipe and 94 CR 250 ignition. I think the main problem was I ran 14/51 gearing like my 450. I was between gears on some parts of the track, so yes, I think I might try some gearing at 14/48/49? I do some suspensio...

I agree sounds liek your pilot is finally close enough you can see changes with the air screw. before you were too far out on the pilot. In fact all the carb guys will tell you if your airscrew is between 1.5 and 2,5 turns, and it peaked by 3 turns your spot on! good work Thanks... Still working on...

All this is testing warmed up and riping a dirt alley behind the house. Track is rained out for tomorrow, so Thursday will be the first day I can get it on a track. Also running a 99 250 ignition dead center on timing, PC Works/304 exhaust, 40:1 (Castor 927) 50/50 107 octane and 91 mix, between 900-...

Jetting questions
Hey kids... Finally got all my jets and a new needle in and it's time to get this beat jetted right! Current set up is 39mm PWK with a 178 / 55 / and the dreaded CGJ R1368N. It runs rich across the RPM range, but more so in the pilot circuit. Also it has tons of snappy top end power, but a bit slow ...

Gasket questions.
Crank should be here Tuesday, I got OEM gaskets for the main cases and right clutch case, cylinder base and clutch cover o-ring. Should I use RTV on any of these gaskets? I did not use it last time for the cylinder, but it was a Cometic and the OEM one looks cheap. Shit they all seem cheap, orange r...
