New CRE500 Facebook group

I want to create a bit of a following for the CRE500. I also want to create an owners register. Please join if you are keen on the factory road going CR500.

So it looks like a rechargeable battery is the way to go? Any other tips before I drop coin on parts?

Tharrell wrote:Thanks, I can't figure out how it got gone. The area surrounding it doesn't look repaired or bent at all.
I guess I can cut one off an old frame or have something fabbed.
Mate mine is too cut up to help anyway.

I know where you're at w/the lighting system.

Instead of jacking w/the tuna can ignition, I decided to just install a rechargeable NiMeh battery and 100% LED lighting.
It passed the state inspection w/flying colors.....lights, mirrors and street legal rubber.
Your road/track 480 looks oddly cool ...

CR480 Bottom end, can I use a stator?

Hi there,

Have a bit of a project on the go. Turning a CR480 track bike into a road registered cafe racer.

I need to decide if I should use a stator and battery or just a rechargeable battery.

Does anyone know if the stator that fits the newer 500's will fit into the CR480 bottom end?

Thanks,

TT

Shovel head = way of standing the bikes up closer to center of gravity rather than keeled over.

Thanks Josh. I didnt build it, I got it as you see it.

But I do look after it. Its a blast to ride with the weird V4 noise but it is heavy and not as fast as a new bike. That said it corners well for such a big bike.

Hi,

Was told this is the place for the best tech info on the big bore CR's.

I have a 2001 CRE500 that is parked under a cover as a collectable. Thats one of the 250 made by Honda Australia with compliance for road rego.
I also have a VF1000R built by HMR in QLD its a one off road bike. I have ...
