1988 motor upgrade?
I currently have two CR500 motors, one is a 1988 and I have a 1997. Looking at the two motors, has anyone ever tried to use an 89 or newer cylinder on an 88? I would need to get a cylinder and the right side cover so the water pump outlet went straight up. I only ask as this past weekend I needed a ...

East Coast Represent!
There's too many of you West coast guys around here. Time for some New York City area flavor. I'm from Jersey, but travel all around the tri-state area. Mainly MX tracks, but now that I get older, my knees aren't quite the same, so I do some trails once in a blue moon.

I would like a rule where no one can mention the number 863. Since that is what I have on my bike and race with it, no one else can even think about the number or use it in a sentence. And then if they do, I'll tell them that it's mine, never use it again and then report them to have them banned!! :...

Motocross Action Magazine 450 vs 500
I just got done reading in the November 2007 issue a shootout between an 2008 CRF450 and a 2001 CR500. Can you guess the results? Talk about biased!! Their test rider said if the motor could have been stuffed in a newer chassis it would have been better, but I guess that wasn't an option in their mi...

I had actually stumbled across this site first before the other one. Glad I never registered over there. So you mean to tell me that in order to post or ask a question you HAVE to have a 500? So much for asking questions before buying. I also saw some crap about not saying AF because that is Service...

Parts options
I have an 88 motor that has a bad clucth basket. Can I install a newer side cover so I can install a newer basket? If I can, what other parts do I need to replace to make the new basket work?

Gen 2 kickstarter
My 2nd generation AF CR500 is in need of a kickstarter. I had been using the stock kicker for the 500 motor with no issues, but I can no longer get it from Honda and now it is sloppier than a 2 dollar whore. What 250/450 kicker would have the right bend to tuck in nice and not hit the pipe? I've tri...
