01' 500 with 250 sparky parts

Sooooo I haven't been on here in about the last 5 years. Finally picked up another 5hundy with an AF frame, swingarm and shock. The PO claims he installed an electrical system from a 96 250 other than an electrosport stator. It didn't have spark when I purchased the bike so I got a better deal. I ...

So after getting the seals corrected and hoses fixed. Once the bike reaches temp is shit's coolant out the over flow. I tried a new cap to no avail. I also removed the rad's and hoses and flushed them all out and they are free and clear. But the bitch still pisses coolant out the overflow line. I ...

I had the same problem. Turned out to be a head gasket. The pressure forces water out the hole. I had replaced all the seals and gaskets too. If you pull the head u can usally see where the water was going .

It happens when the bike is not running after I've been kicking her. The head was decked ...

I have pix and can email them to those interested. The jug is currently at 89.50 and appears it can be ran the way it is. Theres no scoring or gouges in the cylinder wall. Get the exhaust bridge taken care of and run it. The kicker is not damaged and can be used as well. I think the jug will fit in ...

88' Jug and reed block

Selling off the 88' Jug and reed block. The jug needs to be punched out. Not sure on the size as I have to dig it out of the barn. It did run when pulled but the exhaust bridge was never relieved by a previous so-called builder. Looking for $100 plus shipping. I can get pix if anyone is interested ...

So the bike is up and running. I put the new late model right side cover on. The issue at hand is it's weeping coolant out the lil hole in the cover! I've replaced both the seals and the washer and still fucking leaks! The seals are Honda OEM from bikebandit! What gives???

I took it to a machinist and told him to take care of it either way. He cut the sleeve instead of milling out the cases. He also removed the two back cylinder studs so I can install longer ones. All I need now are new circlips and find a head. The one I have looks like it was hit with a gernade.

So I've decided to just freshen up the motor with newer goodies and run the steel frame. Here's what I've got-88' cases with no damage and good transmission and crank. Gonna replace the crank bearings, seals and gaskets. I have a 96' cylinder that is being fitted to the 88' cases and the head is ...

Right side cover

I've read the threads till my eye's bled! But still haven't found a solid answer. I have an 88' engine. I just picked up a 96' cylinder and the goods off fleabay last night for a song. I got the kickstarter also. I know about the milling need to put that jug on my bottom end. My right side engine ...
