Anyone ever had this done? I'm not sure if the machinist can do it with the motor still together or will I have to split the cases and bring him the half?

Yea but the whole thing about removing the gear and bolting it to another plate is kinda high maintenance for me. I don't understand how that will work either.

Took apart the right clutch side of the case to install my new gear shift drum & seal & also to inspect the clutch. Are these the tooth marks that you don't want? They look too bad to file down, I guess I'll fork out for a new basket any suggestions on brand and whatnot? http://www.xylicon.c...

When I bought the bike and opened it up thats what I found, by all means it was not my maintenance that caused this.
