Similar to Danny's story, I had a shooting pain through my mid to lower back whenever I sneezed after my over-the-bars trip last December. Back in May, I had another unexpected trip over the bars and it seems to have fixed whatever the first one caused. No more pain. Hmmm...Some physical therapists...

Re: Back pain, what to do
Once the pain has subsided, start a regular routine of stretching exercises focusing on stretching the ham strings. You would also do well to do exercises that focus on strengthening your pelvic and abdominal muscles in order to better support your spine/lower back. This works well to help mitigate...

I havn't taken anything for it, but think I might right now. I hate the lower back pain because it shoots down to the back of my knees, a...

I just got off the phone with Glen and all I have to say is, WOW! What a supremely generous guy! I asked me all sorts of questions about my riding style and then instructed me on exactly what I need for my 500. Best of all, he really sounded like he enjoyed talking CR500's. Because I am a pretty rel...

Actually, Cobras did not come with IRS until '99. The '99-'01 Cobra center sections had 29 spline diffs whereas the '03-'04 diffs have accept a 31 spline C/V joint. Axle hop, as it is termed, actually refers to bind up of the short/long arm suspension that the IRS knuckles ride on. The compliant rub...

I'll scrounge some pics together off of the computer when I get home and start a thread for sure! And you are right about potential diff problems, especially if I drag race the damned thing. Actually, wheel hop and broken half shafts are the true gremlin I'd have to deal with. But my intentio...

Was it wheel spin that threw him over the divider? I'm glad to hear that both drivers are doing well! BTW Brit, I have a '98 Cobra motor and IRS in my '89 Mustang LX hatchback. My next project is to pull the 4.6 4 valve and drop in a Navigator 5.4 4 valve with a Sullivan intake and about 10 lbs of b...

How can I identify the piston that came out of the motor? Are there any telltale ways to know if the piston is stock versus aftermarket, oversized, things of this nature? The dark discoloration on the piston bottom shows that the jetting is correct, and the motor has been making some power! ( heat)...
