Packing for quiet...

Yeah yeah yeah, I'm rebuilding the CR5 that I've never ridden. Shoot. At least it's going into a decent frame, ah hem ah hem.  So I'm looking at repacking my stock CR hockey stick. Is this silencer capable of being fairly quiet? I'm even thinking of going with a DB Snorkle mainly because...

All told I spent about $400 for all of the bearings, seals, gaskets, stock Honda piston and some other odds and ends. And like other posters have mentioned, I just looked through the micro fische and figured out which bearings, seals and whatnot that I needed. Pretty easy, really. Parts should be he...

Hondaparts-direct looks like a great site! Thanks for the link. Does anyone know if all gaskets and o-rings are included in the gasket kit sold by these guys?

Engine rebuild parts list

Mornin', So I'm getting ready to rebuild my CR5 motor in preparation for making my CR powered KTM rideable. I was hoping that folks could have a look at my parts list and help me determine if I am missing anything. Here it goes: * Gasket kit (061A0-ML3-405) I would expect this to contain all of the ...

If you do not mind, that'd be great! I am however waiting to see if a KTM 2 stroke boot matches up with my carb placement. Otherwise, if this setup offers any advantages, I am all ears.

Thanks you!

dude, you should make a custom strait intake boot since the shock won't be a problem! I bought one of these for my GSS motor. http://www.qrckarts.com/store/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=255 Only issue I found is that you may need to open up/match the intake boot to the aluminu...

Thanks! I betcha love my pretty garage too! That fridge used to be a kegerator....but anyways. I'd love to do a straight intake boot for the motor but unfortunately, or fortunately, the stock KTM 2 stroke boot will mate up nicely with the stock CR500 carb placement, according to my hypothesis....

CR500 powered KTM

Hey all, So I recently ran a poll in the AF forum whilst debating over and AF versus KTM (plateable here in WA) project. I decided on the KTM. Here are some initial pics of the swap: http://picasaweb.google.com/dohcfox/CR500AFKTM500/photo#5212672105620866018 http://picasaweb.google.com/dohcfox/CR500...

Well, it's decided. While I highly respect the opinions of my CR500 riding brethren at this site, I've decided to go the KTM route. The reasons are the following: 1) I've got an MSO right here in front of me that says NOTHING about off road only on it. Washington state laws suck if your MSO or title...

One of the other advantages with the KTM frame is the availability of desert tanks.

And I agree, being different is always cool!

Hello all, I haven't been around in a while.
