I've been offered an '89 250 cdi and stator but no flywheel magnet, which, if i can get the correct magnet, would hopefully enable me to junk the 85 stuff and get the bike to actually work.

Will a flywheel magnet HAVE to be a 89-92 250 to work with the 89 250 stator? or are all the 80s-90s 250 ...

I played with a bunch of 85 ignition stuff and I think the real problem with these is that all the connectors are aluminum making it really hard to get everything working consistently.
I gave up and am running a 92-6 ignition.

I cannot get a spark on my 85. At the moment there is a 2mm gap between rotor magnet and pickup coil-somethings wrong i think!

Problem is i cannot find what number stator and magnet go together. I can find part numbers ok for what an 85 should have but this doesnt help much because ...
