FS 95 CR500 Steelie $1600

I have a 95 CR500 steelie for sale in Concord, NH. Came to me as a trade. I unfortunately don't have the time anymore to ride. Everything seems pretty solid on it. Has good compression but have not compression tested it. Runs but will need carb cleaned as it has been sitting for a little bit. Phone-...

The roller is in fair condition. No leaks, straight forks, rims, 2 bent spokes but wheels spin straight. Bearings are here and there, some good some bad. I'd replace them anyways if I was going through the trouble of doing a conversion.

Bike is in overall good condition with no known problems otherwise I would state them. Only thing It would really need done is jetting as it runs a little rich but you would have to expect that changing locations anyways. If there is something specific you would like a pic of let me know.

As a powdercoater I'll throw my 2 cents in. Powdercoating the spokes should not have cause damaged to them. Cure temp for most powders is 375-385* at 15 minutes bake time. When you powder coat something it doesn't take the stiffness out of it. Properly done powder can be bent and retain it's form. N...

You just answered my question, I don't want an old junky bike. If I could of used the engine as a spare/mock up and sell the rest of it off and make my money back would of been worth it.

85 cr500 question

I can pick up a non running 85 pretty cheap locally. I have a 99 cr500 that I picked up to do a AF swap on. I'm not really interested in the chassis at all but would the engine be good to have? From what I can tell this engine doesn't share to much with the 99. Are the engine mounts at least the sam...

01 swinger will work fine, same with the shock. If you are to run a 02 swing arm with an 01 linkage you need to swap out a part of the dog bone as I believe the swing arm tabs are smaller on the 02.

I am currently doing this myself. I am putting an 01 engine in an 02+ frame. The swing arm and lower mount work out fine. The front mount needs to be drilled and the head mount needs to be fabbed. I am mostly swapping just the frame and sub from an 02 and using all 01 for the rest of it. I am saving...

Obviously the steelie was designed for the engine, but is there a downside to using the 250 one? Not enough leverage or something?

towman, I'm in NH and might have a 01 CR250 frame, swinger, and sub frame soon. Titled for the street. I'm swapping everything else over to a 02 chasis. Also watch craigslist like a hawk, I scored a 03 cr250 with a bum engine for $400 that my 500 is going into. You need to be ready to pounce on thos...

Welcome aboard! Only legal places to ride in NH are Clough State Park and Fremont NH. Fremont is a joke, straight soft sand trail with speed limit and patrolled. Clough is good if you like single track. Hit me up and I can show you around sometime.

Its stupid to take a street registered bike , and part it out into the dirt From what I know in CA it's a PITA to title a bike.... In NH it'a easy as it can be. I have 2 CRF50s, XR80, CRF150F, 1 CR250 frame, 1 CR250 rolling chassis, 1 CR250 running bike, and a CRF450X all titled for street use. So ...

New addict in NH

Hey guys, new guy here from NH. I'm 24 years old and have been riding bikes and ATVs for 18 years. The last five years I have been bike only and haven't looked back. I have a stable full of bikes ranging from dirt to street. Until now the only smoker I had was a 01 CR250. Recently I found a blown up...
